Section outline

    • Nau mai, haere mai. This eLearning series is for you.

This series is a koha designed by tāngata whaitakiwātanga (autistic individuals) and their whānau. Our aim is to introduce takiwātanga to those starting their journey, sharing our experiences at this moment in time.

Note: This resource reflects personal experiences, not a prescriptive path. We encourage you to discover what resonates with you and your whānau.  Language choices in each piece reflect the preferences of the speaker or author, not necessarily Kanorau or Your Way | Kia Roha.

    • This module is designed to plant the foundational seeds of knowledge about takiwātanga, offering a unique perspective rooted in te ao Māori (the Māori worldview). Through stories, values, and traditions, this module introduces how takiwātanga is viewed within te ao Māori, emphasising the idea that autism is a taonga (treasure) to be nurtured.  It aims to help you understand the cultural context of takiwātanga and see it through a strength-based, holistic lens.
